SARA is part of the Arkansas Historical Commission This marker is roughly in the center of the map, just south of Jefferson, Texas (Submitted on December 5, 2017, by Cosmos Mariner of Cape Canaveral, Florida.) Evidence of Trammel's Trace still exists across seven East Texas counties, and historical markers up and down the route describe its significance.

Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail Partnership for the National Trails System. I have found this map to be most helpful in introducing the scope of Trammel's Trace, and it looks pretty good in a frame too. Maps — Trammel's Trace. This 11x17" map is based on research by James and Mary Dawson in the 1940s, preserved by the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archive (SARA) in Old Washington, Arkansas Trammel's Trace was the first road into Texas from the north, in use by Anglos in the early 1800's
